There's No 'Right' Answer Until You Know Your Situation

If you're hoping for one sourcing answer for Finder Relay 24VDC components, timer OEM parts, or a drive distributor relationship, I'm going to disappoint you. There isn't one. There's a good answer for your volume, your compliance needs, and your tolerance for lead time. Those are different for every buyer.

Why does this matter? Because the wrong route can cost you months.

Scenario C: Safety PLC Decisions — OEM Before Private Label, Almost Every Time

Five years ago, you had fewer sourcing options and less access to manufacturers. Today, with global sourcing and online procurement, you can private label a timer or buy a safety PLC from almost anywhere. The new risk isn't lack of choice. It's choosing without a system.

For my money, the system is simple:

  • Need it fast? Authorized distributor.
  • Building a product and volume justifies it? Timer OEM with your spec, or private label once setup costs pay off.
  • Safety-rated part? OEM unless the certificate package is proven.

I do not mean private label is always wrong. I mean the default should be the lower-risk route until the data says otherwise.
