Use five checkpoints to organize coil voltage, contacts, load behavior, mounting and market documentation before comparing Finder relay references.
Start with the coil
A good relay choice is not a cross-reference guess. It is a documented match between the control supply, the switched load, the required contact behavior and the installed assembly.
Confirm AC or DC, nominal voltage, available tolerance and the output that energizes the coil. A 24 VDC label is a starting point; PLC output capacity, suppression and release behavior still matter. Record the complete coil code rather than relying on the family name.
State the number of poles and whether changeover contacts are needed. Then describe the actual load: resistive, inductive, lamp, solenoid or another category. Consider inrush, breaking current and switching frequency instead of treating the headline ampere value as universal.
Choose PCB, panel or DIN rail mounting and identify the matching socket. Check pin arrangement, terminal style, hold-down clip, indication, test features and available width. The serviceable unit is the relay plus its compatible accessories.
A strong request makes comparison faster and reduces clarification loops. Work through each line before submitting a quantity or asking for an alternative.
Request the current datasheet and accessory table for every shortlisted reference. If a project calls for UL, CE, RoHS or an IEC-related rating, confirm its scope for the chosen relay, socket and market. Wiring diagrams should be compared to the actual terminal numbering before installation.
